Tirupthi
The Devotees to fulfil their Vow to Lord Venkateswara will take this path to reach Tirumala on foot from Tirupati. It consists of a total 3550 Steps which makes a distance of 11 km.There are Four Gopurams(Temple Towers) on the way.

Tirupati to Tirumala on Foot
For those of you who would like to climb the hills to Tirumala to fulfil a vow, there are two well-laid stone footpaths leading to Tirumala. These paths are called sopanamargas.
The more ancient of the two sopanamargas which starts from Alipiri at the foot of the hills, is about 11 km in length, and is the commonly-used route.
Token facility is provided for pedestrian who come on foot to Tirumala through Gali Gopuram or Srivari Mettu.
Bio-Metric counters are established on these foot paths, to facilitate free darshan, free accommodation (P.A.C.) and free food facilities at Tirumala.
TTD provides following facilities to pilgrims who walk up the hills to Tirumala.
• Transportation of luggage, free of cost, to Tirumala. Pilgrims will be given a token when they deposit their luggage at any of the choultries in Tirupati, or at the Toll Gate in Alipiri. They can take delivery of their luggage at the Central Reception Office Counter at Tirumala.
•  Drinking water along the footpath.
• Toilets
• Shelters at important points along the way for resting .
• Constant patrol by security forces to prevent pilgrims from being cheated or robbed by unscrupulous elements.
• Relay of religious programmes through the local broadcasting system  .
• Twenty-four hour medical assistance all along the route .
• Canteens that supply refreshments.
APSRTC runs free buses from the Tirupati Railway station to Alipiri, with a frequency of 30 minutes. Pilgrims who intend to walk up the hills to Tirumala can use these buses.

Namaskaram. I just created one group to send message about our planning for Tirupati Tirumala by Walk in 2017. Shall we plann somewhere in October?

Will it be ok if we leave from our respective places around late night or early night so that we reach tirupati by 2 am or so.

[1:51 PM, 6/16/2017] +91 90083 70893: Tirupati to Tirumala by Footpath - http://praveenjangira.blogspot.in/2011/09/tirupati-to-tirumala-by-footpath.html
Three friends or shall we say three musketeers, set out to take the challenge and complete the trek from Tirupati to Tirumala.
In the past one year, we had been to Tirupati 3 or 4 times. Whenever we want to go, we just pick up our car and drive to Tirupati. It is 250 kms from Bangalore and takes about 4 hours to drive. The route is pretty straight and the roads also good except for a small patch which is in bad state and some part of it is a single lane highway.
We started our journey on Thursday i.e. 22 Sep 2011 at night 10.00 pm from Marathalli. I went to my friends place and picked up his Etios and started driving towards Whitefield where we had to pick up another friend. At around 10.40 we started from Whitefield and headed straight towards Hoskote. The road from Hoskote is a national highway and is four lanes. You will see number of RTO check-posts on the way. Though, they are meant for commercial vehicles, sometimes they may stop you and try to make some money for chai-pani. We were also stopped at one such RTO check-post and the person started asking questions. Be calm and answer their questions without any hesitation and be bold. They will ask money in different forms (chai-pani, entry tax, border tax etc.) but they are not authorized to charge you anything and there are no such charges you need to pay if you have your own private vehicle meeting all legal requirements. We told him “no” to his demands and just moved on. On the way we stopped for a tea break. We saw another group joined us at the same tea stall and while talking we got to know that they are from Belgaum. My friend is also from a place close-by and so that interaction started and they probably were going for the first time so started asking questions and we were happy to answer them and help them understand. After some chit-chat, we greeted each other and they started moving forward and left before us. On the way, we saw them again and waved hands at each other like we do it when we are doing see-off to our friends and family members. The drive to Tirupati was very comfortable with one or two breaks we reached at the foothill around 2.00 AM.
We got to know that the vehicle movements from Tirupati to Thirumala is closed for few hours (between 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM) because of which there was some traffic at the foothill (place where the security check of vechiles happen)(Picture 1).
We were also stuck in that traffic, but after finding out that the trek on foot starts from here only, we started enquiring about the way and the parking for our vehicle. We got to know that there is a private bus stand, Balaji Bus Stand (picture 2), which provides parking for private vehicles.
We somehow requested people to move their cars and made some space to get ourselves out of the traffic and started searching for the parking lot. We came back for about 500 meters and found the place. You enter the place and keep going straight till the end of t… Read more

Now that all the Saturdays and Sundays booking for Kalyanotsavam bookings are closed, we can't have Kalyanotsavam seva performed in the month of October. Our bad luck with our first attempt of Pilgrimage Nature Trail to Tirumala. Let us see whether we can try for other Seva like Arjitha Brahmotsavam or something like that

If we are not seriously interested in this Pilgrimage Nature Trails, we can drop it. It is all about our willingness and ability to devote some time for this.
Good morning to all. Since Kalyanotsavam booking is closed, shall we try for Arjitha Brahmotsavam?

Arjita Vasantotsavam is conducted daily as an abridged version of the Vasantotsavam. The seva is conducted in the Vaibhavotsava Mandapam . The seva is offered to Sri Malayappa swami and His consorts - Sridevi and Bhudevi. The seva begins with perfumeries and scents applied to the deities. The veda pandits chant Purusha suktam, Narayana Suktam, Shri Suktam and Bhu Suktam. Abhishekam (sacred bath) is performed to the Lord and His consorts with sacred water, milk, curd, honey and turmeric. Next, sandal paste is applied to Sri Malayappa Swami and consorts. At the conclusion of the Seva, a perforated plate is held on top of the deities and water poured, creating a shower.
The ticket holder are given 2 small laddus as prasadam for this arjita seva. The duration of the seva is about one hour. At the conclusion of the seva, the ticket holders are permitted to have the darshan of the main deity in the sanctum.

Is it ok? Shall we book the tickets now. 113 tickets are only available

Arjitha Brahmotsavam Tirumala Timings
Arjitha Brahmotsavam Tirumala Timings - Seva Start Time: 2:00 P.M
Reporting place: Supadam or Vaibhavotsava Mandapam. If Supadam is crowded, then devotees will be
informed about reporting at Vaibhavotsava Mandapam.
Arjitha Brahmotsavam Seva Details
In Arjitha Brahmotsavam, the rituals of Brahmotsavam are performed daily in an abridged manner in the
Vaibhavotsava Mandapam that is opposite to the Main temple (near Rambageecha). Arjitha
Brahmotsavam is performed after Kalyanotsavam. Where in Utsava murthi Lord Malayappa Swamy is
seated on the Pedda Sesha Vahanam, Garuda Vahanam and Hanumantha Vahanam and is worshiped
along with his Consorts.
After Arjitha Brahmotsavam Seva, Devotees are allowed for Darshan through Supadam Entrance
Note:
1) Arjitha Brahmotsavam Tickets is non transferable
2) Ticket pre-ponement or postponement is not possible
3) Arjitha Brahmotsavam Seva Tickets cancellation is subjected to T.T.D.

Arjita Brahmotsavam
Arjita Brahmotsavam is performed daily and is the abridged version of the Brahmotsavam event. The seva is done in the Vaibhavotsava Mandapam where the vahanams (vehicles of the lord) are kept throughout the year. In the seva, Sri Malayappaswami is seated on Garuda Vahanam, Hanumanta Vahanam and Peddasesha Vahanam in that order and offered worship. This seva is conducted after the Dolotsavam is completed.
Each ticket allows 1 person to participate in the seva. Ticket holders would earlier get Vastra Bahumanam (traditional clothes as gift) but this practice is now discontinued. But you receive 2 small laddus for this seva. At the conclusion of this seva, the ticket holders are permitted to have the darshan of the main deity in the sanctum.

i think i am not able to book online ticket due to some limitation of 180 days... so next i can book ticket only after 24th november. i am so sorry..

we shall look for our pilgrimage nature trail plans in november. is it ok?

i think we can try going there without any seva booking in the coming months whichever month you are all interested. it is going to be a good trek in the name of god and we will have good darshan and come back. what do you all say about this idea?

#Tirumala is our next plan for October 2017

Kollur - Kodachadri
[3:08 PM, 7/7/2017] +91 90083 70893: Kodachadri
Kodachadri is located at a distance of 115 km from Shimoga town and 36 km from Hosanagara. Kodachadri is the highest peak (at an altitude of 1343 m above sea level) of Shimoga district in Karnataka state. Located in the middle of the Mookambika National Park, Kodachadri is home to many endemic and endangered species of flora and fauna. Kodachadri is famous for its wonderful sunrise and sunset.
The main attraction of Kodachadri is "Sarvajna Peetha" which is on the hilltop. It is believed that philosopher "Adi Shankaracharya" performed meditation at this place. The closest base to Kodachadri hills is Kollur which is at a distance of 20 kilometers. Kodachadri hills form a scenic backdrop of the famous Mookambika temple in Kollur.
It is believed that "Adi Mookambika" temple at Kodachadri village is the origin of Goddess Mookambika. This temple is said to be the original Mookambika temple, which is associated with the assassination of demon Mookasura by the lion riding Mother Goddess in nearby forests, where the demon Mookasura was disturbing the penance of the sages , devoted to the goddess.
Kodachadri hills are also a great place for Trekkers. Arisinagudi Waterfalls and Agastya Teertha Waterfalls are the points of interest nearby.
The best time to visit Kodachadri is from October to March.
Accommodation is not available at Kodachadri. You will have to stay at Kollur or Kundapura.

Due to security reasons and the difficulty in performing daily worship, many of the utsava vigrahas of the nine shrines are kept in this temple.
